It’s a great feeling knowing you are helping so many people, who would otherwise be unable to get to their appointments & it’s so lovely to meet lots of different people, and everyone is so grateful that you are volunteering. ![]()
It’s so flexible, you can choose exactly when you want to drive, & as few or as many hours as you want. The staff at Bact are brilliant, they are so efficient & helpful & I feel very supported by them. The joining up process is very straightforward & didn’t take long before I could get started.![]()
You’re provided with a super polo top & hi vis, & with my ID badge I feel very proud to be part of the charity."![]()

Debbie has been driving her car as a volunteer for bact for over 6 months and loves it. ![]()
Debbie says, "I'd recently moved to the area and wanted to get out and about and meet people. I really enjoy helping people, whether that be a medical appointment or a hairdressing appointment, it may be their only trip out that week, so it's just as important (to avoid social isolation). The journey is just as important as the destination - l love to chat to my customers".![]()
